The Atlanta Falcons announced their preseason schedule on Monday, finally setting a date for when fans can expect to see Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Todd Gurley and the rest of the team hit the field for an organized game.
Atlanta will open up the preseason at home against the Miami Dolphins and their new quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, on August 14th, before traveling to take on the Buffalo Bills the following week.
Joe Burrow will come to town on August 28th when the Bengals take on the Falcons. Atlanta’s secondary will be tested early in the preseason, as they will face three passers that will likely be throwing the ball a little more than usual, as they get acclimated with their teams.
The Falcons will finish the preseason with a trip down to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars on September 3rd.
Preseason games will be more important than usual this season, as mini camps were canceled due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Making many preseason camps the first time some coaches have seen players live on the field.
The press release did not mention if fans would be allowed at the preseason games, but it is a positive sign to the return of football after the outbreak of COVID-19.
