The Air Force Falcons (1-2) return to Falcon Stadium on Saturday looking to snap a two-game skid when they host the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors (3-2). Kickoff is set for 4:10 p.m. EST on FS1.

Season So Far

Air Force opened the season on a high note, dominating Bucknell 49-13. Since then, however, the Falcons have struggled defensively in consecutive losses — a 49-30 setback to Utah State followed by a 49-37 defeat at Boise State. Scoring points has not been the issue. Instead, defensive lapses have kept Air Force from closing out games.

Statistical Snapshot

Offense (National Rank):
•    Total Offense: 462.7 yards per game (27th)
•    Rushing: 267.3 yards (6th)
•    Scoring: 38.7 points (32nd)

Defense (National Rank):
•    Total Defense: 443.7 yards allowed (125th)
•    Passing: 255.3 yards allowed (108th)
•    Rushing: 188.3 yards allowed (128th)
•    Scoring: 37 points allowed (128th)

The Falcons’ rushing attack continues to thrive, ranking among the nation’s best. But defensive numbers paint the opposite picture, with opponents averaging nearly 450 yards per game.

Keys to the Game

For Air Force, the number 49 has become symbolic: each of its first three games has ended with either the Falcons or their opponent scoring that total. To change the narrative, the defense must step up against a Hawaii offense that has struggled statistically but remains capable of capitalizing on mistakes. Limiting big plays will be essential.

Team Leaders
•    Passing: Liam Szarka – 362 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
•    Rushing: Dylan Carson – 214 yards, 2 TD
•    Receiving: Cade Harris – 13 receptions, 325 yards, 1 TD
•    Tackles: Blake Fletcher – 31
•    Sacks: Isaac Hubert – 3
•    Interceptions: Max Mustell, Roger Jones Jr. – 1 each

Prediction

Air Force’s identity remains tied to its ground game, and that advantage should carry them through against Hawaii. If the defense can avoid giving up explosive plays, the Falcons should be able to grind out a much-needed win at home.

Prediction: Air Force 17, Hawaii 10
