Points leader Denny Hamlin in the No. 11 FedEx Office Toyota was 3rd fastest in practice, running a 29.995- second lap.
Daniel Hemric in the No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet was the fastest rookie in round one, running the 2nd fastest lap with a 22.987-second lap.
