The Buckeyes face their first true test.

On Saturday, Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes take on Bob Stoops and the Sooners.

Ohio State is currently ranked third in the nation, and looks to prove themselves in their first game against a ranked opponent this season.

This will be the third meeting between these two programs, and the first since 1983. The series is tied 1-1 between the two programs.

The last time Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops faced each other was in the 2008 BCS National Championship Game. Meyer’s Gators toppled Stoops and the Sooners 24-14.

The Oklahoma Sooners enter week three ranked fourteenth in the AP poll after suffering a week one loss against Houston. The Sooners must have a strong showing against the Buckeyes to stay relevant in the major-bowl conversation.

The Buckeyes are 2-0 in 2016 following wins over Bowling Green and Tulsa. J.T. Barrett played exceptional in week one, setting a school record of seven touchdowns in a game, as well as 379 yards of total offense for the starting QB.

Sooner quarterback Baker Mayfield has had an impressive start to the season as well, completing 38 of 53 pass attempts with five touchdown-passes and zero interceptions.  The 2015 Heisman finalist will try to continue that success against an impressive Ohio State Secondary.

These two teams will kickoff in Norman, Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m. EST. The game will be televised on Fox.
