Hampton, GA – Christopher Bell in the No. 20 Ruud Toyota will start on the pole Saturday afternoon at Atlanta Motor Speedway after posting the fastest lap time of 30.600 seconds in the final round of qualifying.

With 42 are trying to make the field for Saturday afternoon’s Rinnai 250, round 1 of qualifying acted as the defacto elimination round. Only 24 cars are able to make the 2nd round, so 25th through 40th would be determined by points standings, with two drivers getting the short end of the stick. Failing to qualify were the No. 74 Shadow Warriors Project Chevrolet of Mike Harmon and the No. 45 Prevegan Toyota of Josh Bilicki.

In round two John Hunter Nemechek in the No. 42 Fire Alarm Services Inc. Chevrolet rose to the top of the field with a lap time of 31.056 seconds. Beat out the 2nd fastest qualifier of the round Christopher Bell of the No. 20 Ruud Toyota.

With just 12 drivers making the cut to advance to the final round of qualifying, someone had to be in the unlucky 13th position. That was Spencer Gallagher in the No. 23 Allegiant Chevrolet just missing the cut by 0.041 seconds, just behind Tyler Reddick in the No. 9 Chevrolet who ran a 30.833-second lap.

In the final round, Christopher Bell would run the fastest lap to capture the pole with a lap time of 30.600 seconds. This beat out Joey Logano in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford by 0.030 seconds.
