The #5 Clemson Tigers stayed perfect on the season defeating the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 48-20. The Tigers were effective on the ground scoring four times and 280 yards.
Will Shipley led the way with 12 carries for 139 yards and two scores. QB DJ Uiagalelei had 62 yards while Phil Mafah (30 yards) and Kobe Pace (10 yards) both scored.
Uiagalelei went 17/29 passing for 221 yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers. The Tigers outgained the Bulldogs 521-323 and forced four turnovers.
Shipley would score the only touchdown in the first half on a two-yard run in the first quarter to give Clemson a 10-0 lead.
The second quarter would see three field goals, two by Clemson and the other by the Bulldogs to give Clemson a 13-6 lead at the half.
Clemson would break the game open in the third, scoring 21 unanswered points. Shipley scored on a 32-yard run just 20 seconds into the third. Mafah would then score on a four-yard run with 5:25 left in the third. Finally, Beaux Collins caught a 32-yard pass from Uiagalelei to bring the score to 34-6 at the end of the third.
The Bulldogs would shrink the lead to 14 after a Marquis Crosby three-yard run and a Tre Harris 13-yard pass from Parker McNeil.
Clemson would stop any comeback attempts by scoring twice more to end the game first on an Antonio Williams 19-yard reception from Uiagalelei. Pace would then score with 4:53 left on a three-yard run.
For the Bulldogs, McNeil threw for 311 yards. They were only allowed 12 yards on the ground on 21 attempts.

#5 Clemson Tigers (3-0) has a top 25 matchup when it returns to ACC play against #19 Wake Forest on the road next Saturday.
Louisiana Tech has one more non-conference game as they’ll travel to face South Alabama next Saturday night.
