“We are excited about this partnership with the Fiesta Bowl and Teach For America,” said CFP Foundation Executive Director Britton Banowsky. “We share the common objective of improving communities through education, which can only occur by supporting the development of teachers, our greatest asset.”
Teach For America works with local communities to expand the educational opportunities for children facing challenges of poverty. Teach For America has three components to their approach: enlist diverse individuals to become teachers in low-income communities, develop, train and support core members in leadership qualities, and mobilize as many individuals as possible to strengthen the movement for educational excellence.
“The Fiesta Bowl is excited to partner with the College Football Playoff Foundation to be able to grant Teach For America $100,000. Together, we can provide our Arizona teachers and students with vital resources that will aid in improving education,” Fiesta Bowl Executive Director Mike Nealy said.
