IRVING, Texas – Bill Hancock, Executive Director of the College Football Playoff, announced today that Jason Sabatino has been named Director of Business and Ticket Operations.

“Jason has vast knowledge and experience working on top-tier events,” Hancock said.  “His contributions will be invaluable as we prepare to host the sports’ most recognized and highly attended celebration.  We are delighted to have him as a member of the staff.”

Sabatino will manage the ticketing operations for the national championship game, including seating manifests, sales and accounting.  He will also handle various business and accounting functions.

“I am honored to join such a highly respected team of professionals,” said Sabatino.  “To be a part of this operation during its inaugural year will be a rewarding challenge that I welcome enthusiastically.”

Sabatino comes to the College Football Playoff after recently serving as the associate director of NCAA Championships and Alliances, Marketing and Ticketing since 2010, where he oversaw the ticket operations for the NCAA’s Division I Men’s Basketball Championship preliminary rounds and Final Four.

Prior to his time at the NCAA, Sabatino worked for Cleveland Cavaliers, LLC, as Manager of Ticketing Operations (2008-2010) supporting strategic ticketing initiatives for the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA), Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) and Quicken Loans Arena.  He enjoyed a stint in the same capacity for the New York Islanders (NHL) during 2007-2008.  Sabatino spent nine years (1999-2007) in various posts at Boston University, both in the Department of Athletics and later Agganis Arena at Boston University.  He began his career as collegiate administrator while serving as Business Manager for the America East Conference from 1997-1999.

A native of Massachusetts, Sabatino earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University in 1996.   He and his wife, Meagan have a daughter, Lucy.
