Colorado Buffaloes vs. Delaware Blue Hens: Game Preview

Head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes aim for their first win of the season when they host the Delaware Blue Hens on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX. Colorado opened the post-Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter era with a hard-fought 27–20 loss to Georgia Tech.

Quarterback Kaidon Salter got the start, completing 17 of 28 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 13 times for 43 yards and another score. Sanders also noted that freshman quarterback Julian Lewis is expected to see playing time.

On the ground, Micah Welch chipped in with 64 yards on 11 carries, while Simeon Price added 30 yards on five attempts. Salter spread the ball to 10 different receivers, with Dekalon Taylor catching three passes for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Reginald Hughes led the way with 11 tackles, including nine solo. Martavius French added six tackles with 1.5 for loss, while the unit forced three turnovers, recovering two fumbles and intercepting one pass.

Delaware enters off a 35–17 win over Delaware State. Quarterback Nick Minicucci was efficient, completing 28 of 36 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns. He also led the ground game with nine carries for 44 yards and a score.

Jake Thaw hauled in seven receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown, Kyre Duplessis matched him with seven catches for 89 yards and a score, and Ja’Carree Kelly added another touchdown grab.

Saturday’s matchup could be decided by which defense best contains the opposing dual-threat quarterback.
