Concord, NC — Erik Jones led the field to start the 2nd stage of the Monster Energy Open. However, it was Daniel Suarez leading the first lap of the stage. On the 2nd lap of the stage, David Regan would get very loose on the backstretch coming out of turn two but was able to save it before any real trouble happened.
Meanwhile, Chase Elliott was trying his best to challenged Suarez for the lead. After a failed pass with only 8 laps to go, Elliot was finally able to make the pass of Suarez to with only 7 laps to go. then with only 6 laps to go, Suarez would get a big run and regain the lead!
With only two laps to go, AJ Allmendinger would try his luck at passing Suarez. However, Suarez was able to hold on in the final two laps and punch his ticket to the 2018 Monster Energy All-Star Race!
