Falcons On The Road Against Dallas Looking For 1st Win

The Atlanta Falcons (0-1) hit the road tomorrow for the first time this season as they take on the Dallas Cowboys (0-1) at AT&T Stadium 1 PM EST on FOX. The Falcons look to get back on track as they lost to the Seattle Seahawks 38-25 in the opener last week.

The Falcons trailed 14-12 at halftime before the Seahawks scored two touchdowns in the third quarter an added another one in the fourth quarter along with a field goal. The Falcons outgained the Seahawks 506-383.

Former MVP quarterback Matt Ryan will look to build upon his 37/54 for 450 yards and two touchdown performance. Ryan connected with seven different receivers.

Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, and Russell Gage all had nine receptions. Ridley caught the two touchdowns and finished with 130 yards while Jones and Gage finished with 157 and 114 yards.

Running back Todd Gurley who came from the Rams, had 14 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown in his debut with the Falcons.

The Falcons look to continue the offensive attack against a Cowboy defense that gave up 422 yards against the Rams last week in their 20-17 loss.

On defense, the Falcons will look to slow down Ezekiel Elliott (22 att. for 96 yards and a touchdown). The Cowboy’s offensive line allowed their QB Dak Prescott to be sacked three times. The Falcons were able to sack Seahawk QB Russell Wilson three times as well last week.

Grady Jarrett had 1.5 sacks while Takkarist McKinley added a sack and Dante Fowler Jr. had a half sack in his debut as a Falcon.

Offensive Tackle Jake Matthews is questionable for the game with a knee injury that he suffered in the game last week. He was held out of practice Wednesday and was a limited participant Thursday and Friday. For the second week in a row, cornerback Kendall Sheffield will not play for the Falcons. Sheffield is out with a foot injury and did not practice all week.

Fowler was a full participant this week dispute nursing an ankle injury while Jones was a limited participant this week with a hamstring, but both will play tomorrow.
