“At Helios Education Foundation we believe that education changes lives and strengthens communities,” said Paul Luna, President and CEO of Helios Education Foundation. “We are excited to partner with the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative because of the impact that this work will have in classrooms in our community through the efforts of local partners like Florida College Access Network, Take Stock in Children and LEAP.”
The contribution from Helios Education Foundation partners the College Football Playoff Foundation, Tampa Bay Sports Commission, Florida College Access Network (FCAN), Take Stock in Children (TSIC), LEAP, DonorsChoose.org and the school districts of Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties to help empower schools, teachers and community stakeholders to build a college-going culture for all K-12 students, as well as help low-income high school seniors navigate the college application and financial aid process. This will be accomplished through a combination of initiatives.
“The CFP Foundation is focused on supporting great teachers as we believe they are the key to a quality education,” said Britton Banowsky, Executive Director of the CFP Foundation. “We are grateful for the remarkable support from the Helios Education Foundation and the collective collaboration from the Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco county school districts, as well as the Florida College Access Network.
