Kyle Busch Rallies to Win Boyd Gaming 300 Xfinity Race at Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV – Kyle Busch overcame an early issue in his No. 18 iK9 Xtreme Concepts Toyota Supra, that put him a lap down to take the checkered flag for the victory in the Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“There’s a lot of things that have to go our way. Fortunately, that caution in the beginning of the second stage went our way and allowed us to put our first set of tires on with a fresh wheel and not have issues after that.” said Busch, “I can’t say enough about all of our guys. Everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing. Everyone from Extreme Concepts and iK9. This Supra was fast out there today and awfully fun to drive. We worked for that one that’s for sure.”

Busch dominated after getting back to the front and led 93 of the 213 laps in the race.

The win marks his 93rd career victory in the Xfinity Series and his 2nd overall of the weekend after winning the Stratosphere 200 in the truck race on Thursday night.

Sunday Busch will go for the sweep, something that has only ever been done twice in the history of NASCAR. Both times it was done in Bristol, and both times it was Kyle Busch behind the wheel. Busch feels that he has gotten the toughest of the three races out of the way now.

“I thought this would be the toughest of the three. We had a fast race car, but we could never get the balance even in the race right there. I was either way too tight or way too loose, I could never find a happy medium.” said Busch, “Overall, I feel like the Cup car is pretty good. The M&M’s Chocolate Bar Camry got some speed to it as well and we ran a lot out there in traffic and the pack. So, it will be interesting tomorrow.”

You can catch the drop of the green flag in the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 3:30 pm EST on Sunday as Rowdy looks to sweep the weekend.
