No. 14 Florida State Seminoles vs. East Texas A&M Lions: Game Preview

The No. 14 Florida State Seminoles look to keep their bounce-back season rolling when they host the East Texas A&M Lions on Saturday at noon EST on the ACC Network. Florida State is coming off a statement 31-17 win over then-No. 8 Alabama, while the Lions are searching for their first victory after falling 42-13 to No. 16 SMU.

Quarterback Tommy Castellanos backed up his confidence against Alabama, completing 9 of 14 passes for 152 yards and leading the team in rushing with 78 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. Micahi Danzy added three carries for 56 yards and a score, while Gavin Sawchuk and Caziah Holmes each found the end zone. In total, the Seminoles rushed 49 times for 230 yards and four touchdowns, outgaining the Crimson Tide 230-87 on the ground. Florida State scored on five of its eight offensive drives.

Defensively, Daniel Lyons, Stefon Thompson, and Deamontae Diggs each recorded a sack. Earl Little Jr. paced the defense with nine tackles, including four solo stops and one for a loss.

East Texas A&M faces another uphill battle after throwing two pick-sixes last week. The Lions’ defense did force three turnovers, and they controlled possession with a 38:59 to 21:01 edge, while converting all three of their fourth-down attempts. Cinque Williams led the defense with 2.5 tackles for loss and seven total stops. Koby-Sebasyen King and Micah Owens each added a sack.
