Preview: Orlando Pride looking for first win against Chicago Red Stars Saturday

​Orlando, FL- (July 14, 2016) – Orlando Pride will take on Chicago Red Stars this Saturday, July 16, at Camping World Stadium. The Pride is looking to get their second consecutive win after they came back with two goals in stoppage time against the Boston Breakers, both coming off the boot of Kristen Edmonds.

The Pride will try to defeat the Chicago Red Stars for the first time, with their only previous meeting coming back in May where the Red Stars won 1-0 with a goal from U.S. National Team Member, Christen Press. Orlando will be without captain Alex Morgan, Ashlyn Harris, Monica, Laura Alleway and Steph Catley, who are all with their respective national teams ahead of the upcoming Summer Olympics.

Orlando is looking to climb position in this second half of the season, At the moment the “Purple Girls” are in 5th place with 18 points, coming from 6 victories, and 5 defeats. This match is crucial for the Pride because they are playing against Chicago Red Stars who are currently tied with Orlando in the standings. With a victory, Orlando would climb into the 4th position and will keep within striking distance of the leaders of the league (1st-Portland Thorns FC 26 Pts, 2nd Western New York Flash 24 Pts, 3rd-Washington Spirit 23 Pts)
