Former Alabama Crimson Tide Running back Trent Richardson highlighted league scorers in week one of the launch of the Alliance of American Football with two rushing D’s in the second half of the Birmingham Iron’s win over the Memphis Express on Sunday.
Richardson’s two second-half TD’s came after fumbling on his first drive of the 2nd half, sealing a game that was really upheld by the Iron defense.
After week one, in addition to leading the league in rushing TD’s he also sits 3rd overall in league rushing yards with 58. Orlando Apollos running back Akeem Hunt leads this category with 73 yards.
Next week the Iron will welcome the Salt Lake Stallions to Legion Field and you can look for Richardson to have a field day. The Stallions have the worst rush defense in the league, allowing 149 yards to the Arizona Hotshots in week 1.
