The UCF Knights defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls 40-14 behind four rushing touchdowns and 314 rushing yards on 56 total attempts. QB John Rhys Plumlee led the way with 20 carries for 121 yards and two scores. He also went 25/36 in the air for 339 yards and a touchdown.
Alec Holler had three receptions for 115 yards. Javon Baker added seven receptions for 83 yards and a score.
FAU scored the first two minutes into the game on a Zuberi Mobley 15-yard run. UCF would answer back with Rhys Plumlee’s first score, a seven-yard run. FAU would score again with eight seconds left on a four-yard TD pass from N’KosiPerry to LaJohntay Wester to give FAU a 14-7 lead going into the second quarter.
UCF would go on to score 37 unanswered points. After a 41-yard field goal, UCF would take the lead for good on Rhys Plumlee’s second TD run, a five yarder. UCF took a 16-14 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Isaiah Bowser scored on a one-yard run. Bowser would finish with 33 yards on the ground.
RJ Harvey would then score on a three-yard run giving UCF a 30-14 lead. Harvey finished with 50 yards.
After another UCF field goal, Baker caught a 20-yard pass from Rhys Plumlee. UCF had 653 total yards of offense.
Jason Johnson had 10 tackles including one for a loss for the Knights.
For FAU, Perry passed for 108 yards. Mobley ran for 83 yards on 10 attempts. Larry McCammon added 91 yards on 11 carries.
