On January 1, the 8th ranked UCF Knights (12-0) of the AAC will take on the 11th ranked LSU Tigers (9-3) out of the SEC in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona 1 PM EST on ESPN. This is UCF’s third straight year in a bowl game. The Knights enter the game as one of four undefeated teams. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
The Tigers are looking for its first 10-win season since 2013. UCF comes into the game averaging 44.2 points a game. Their defense has only allowed 21.3 a game despite giving up 423.6 yards on defense a game. They will be without quarterback McKenzie Milton as he continues to nurse his knee injury. Darriel Mack Jr. will take his place. Mack has two touchdowns and 522 yards in the air. For the running game, UCF has Greg McCrae who’s rushed for 1,101 yards and nine scores.
LSU is averaging 31.8 points a game while giving up 20.9 points a game. The offense averages 389.3 yards a game and the defense has given up 346.1 yards a game. Quarterback Joe Burrow has 12 touchdowns to just four interceptions on the year with 2,500 passing yards. Nick Brossette has 922 yards on the ground and 14 touchdowns.
