Natalie Decker has had nearly three full weeks off to prepare for her trip to Texas Motor Speedway and the SpeedyCash.com 400. The N29 Technologies driver, running for DGR-Crosley is eager to get back out onto the track.
“It felt weird having so long of a break, I’m ready to get back in the truck!” says Decker.
This will be Decker’s first trip down to the mile-and-a-half track where she will run for 250 miles. It marks her 7th race of the season in the truck series, with her best finish to this point coming in Las Vegas where she finished 13th.
She has kept her routine the same in preparation for this weekend, stating that her main focus has been, “Just staying in the same routine and eating healthy. That’s the big thing, that goes a long way. Eating healthy and staying hydrated”
She will get plenty of track time ahead of Friday’s race, with three separate hour-long practice sessions scheduled for Thursday. The first one gets underway at 3:05 pm EST with the second coming at 5:05 pm and then the final session coming at 7:00 pm EST.
Friday will be a lot of waiting around and getting the truck ready before any action on the track gets underway for the Truck Series. After the Indy Car practice session at 3:00 pm, qualifying will get underway for Natalie and the rest of the Truck Series at 5:35 pm EST.
Then comes the main event with the SpeedyCash.com 400 getting underway just after 9:00 pm EST with the drop of the green flag for 147 laps of action.
