2 Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 SEC) survived a scare last week against the Missouri Tigers coming from behind in the fourth quarter to win 26-22. Auburn (3-2, 1-1 SEC) let one get away against LSU dropping last week’s game 21-17. The Bulldogs host the Auburn Tigers in Georgia Saturday 3:30 pm EST. on CBS.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 62-56-8 including a five-game win streak. They are third in the SEC in total offense (521.4 yards a game). QB Stenson Bennett has thrown for 1,536 yards and five touchdowns on the season with just one interception. He threw for 312 yards in last week’s win.
Despite holding LSU to 85 passing yards, Auburn gave up a 17-0 lead. QB Robby Ashford threw for two touchdowns and 337 yards for Auburn. Ashford has three passing touchdowns on the season to go along with 709 yards. LB Derick Hall leads Auburn with four sacks and also has 24 tackles, good for fifth on the team. Owen Pappoe leads the team with 33.
For the Bulldogs, they’re only allowing 10.8 points a game and 264.4 yards allowed per game. Malaki Starks (23 tackles) and Christopher Smith (15 tackles) both have two interceptions for the Bulldogs. Jamon Dumas-Johnson and Nolan Smith have two sacks a piece for Georgia. Dumas-Johnson also leads the team in tackles with 24. Smith has 12.
