The week two AP Top 25 College Football Poll was released Sunday afternoon with much of the same near the top, and a fluid list of changes through the rest of the list.
Tigers On Top
It will come to no one’s surprise that Clesmon remains atop the poll, after their 37-13 throttling of Wake Forest on the road.
The Exit Of Pac-12 & Big Ten AP Slots
This marled the first set of rankings with no Pac-12 or Big Teams, with their season still having been postponed on August 11th. Though, there are reports that the initial estimate of a spring restart for those two conference could be shifting toward late October or November, with some meetings being conducted. However, in any event Bama moved up to 2, Oklahoma followed suit to third after their 48-0 shellacking of Missouri St.
Georgia (4) and Florida (5) rounded out the top five. LSU remained at 6th, and got the lone No. 1 vote that Clemson didn’t have.
Notre Dame started off their season a bit slow in a battle with Duke in South Bend. However, after a slow first half, the Irish put the Blue Devils into submission. The performance has them at 7th in the poll. Auburn slid up to 8th, still awaiting the start of their season.
Texas Back In The Top 10
The Longhorns steamrolled UTEP 59-3 on Saturday and moved up to ninth, jumping Texas A&M, who rounded out the top ten.
Rest Of The Top 15
Oklahoma State (11) , North Carolina (12), Cincinnati (13), and UCF (14) moved up based on teams leaving the polls due to season postponement. Though, Tennessee was the successor to the first top 25 team to lose this season, as they move up to 15th after Iowa State lost to Louisiana-Lafayette.
