Boilermakers steamroll Missouri on the road

The Purdue Boilermakers passed their first true road game test with flying colors defeating the Missouri Tigers 35-3. With the win, Purdue moves to 2-1 on the season while the Tigers fall to 1-2. Purdue started quarterback David Blough and he answered the call. He went 5-5 passing on the opening drive for 51 yards. He capped off the drive with a five-yard run. Midway through the 2nd quarter, Blough was 14-15 for 145 yards. He finished the day 22-28 for 187 yards, one touchdown pass and the touchdown run.

Elijah Sindelar came in the 2nd quarter. He finished the game 4-6 for 85 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Running back Tario Fuller continued where he left off last week, carrying the ball 19 times for 90 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown came on a 35-yard run in the first quarter that brought the score to 21-0. Purdue ran the ball 50 times total for 205 yards and three touchdowns. Besides Blough and Fuller, the other touchdown on the ground was by Richie Worship.

The Boilermakers defense played lights out as they held the Tigers to a negative two yards rushing and 19 yards passing with 11:51 left in the 2nd quarter. By halftime, the Tigers punted five times for 251 yards. The Tigers had 11 carries for 23 yards and 7-13 passing for 68 yards at the half.
