CFP Foundation and College Football Partners Prep For Big Impact on Monday’s “BIG DAY”

The College Football Playoff Foundation is set to thank teachers in a “Big” way for their hard work, dedication, and relentless drive to help children succeed, especially during the current chaotic times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On September 14, a national day of support for teachers, The BIG DAY will provide over $4 million in grants, aid and resources to our nation’s teachers.

We all have teachers who made an impact in our lives and little did we know growing up that so many teachers spend hundreds of their own dollars to give their students the best learning experience possible. With more than 150 partners across the United States, the CFP Foundation will complete the largest single-day effort of community impact ever undertaken by the foundation.

CFP Foundation’s Executive Director Britton Banowsky stated, “We are thrilled to have so many generous partners share our passion for supporting teachers. We are grateful for the work they do every day and excited to be able to focus our collective work on one big day. We need teachers more than ever right now. They represent the single-most important factor in a student’s success and their commitment to educating our kids during this challenging time is to be admired and commended.”

Teachers all over the country act as some of the biggest supports in young people’s lives. For some children, their happiest moments occur during school and so many educators do so much more than teach. They feed, love, support and encourage their students outside of their studies. This event will truly show educators how appreciated they are!

Along with the BIG DAY, Extra Yard for Teachers Week will take place September 12-19. This week provides an opportunity for teams to take part in inspiring teachers. Overall, the CFP Foundation has invested nearly $38 million in support of educators and overall impacting over 7 million students nationwide.
