Clemson Arrives in New Orleans Ahead of 2020 CFP National Championship

New Orleans – On a cloudy, windy afternoon at 4:10PM CST, the Clemson Tigers landed at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, ahead of the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was the first person off the plane, smiling as he walked onto the tarmac and was greeted by a band playing New Orleans-style jazz music. Players, coaches and their families then made their way off the plane and posed for photos while waiting to board team buses.

It’s evident that Clemson views this as a business trip as everyone from coaches and players, to staffers and families came dressed for business, wearing suits or their best clothes. They were still soaking in and enjoying the moment as they were serenaded by the band and had fun posing for photos with their teammates and families.

This is Clemson’s fifth straight appearance in the College Football Playoff and fourth appearance in the championship game. If Clemson defeats the LSU Tigers in the title game, they will accomplish some impressive feats. A couple of these accomplishments are that this would be their third national championship in the last four years and Clemson would be the first team to go 15-0 in consecutive seasons. Clemson is already viewed as an upper-echelon college football program but with a victory, they will solidify this reign of success they are on as a dynasty.

With media day tomorrow, Clemson coaches and players will get another chance to speak to the media and share any insights ahead of the most important game of the season and against probably the toughest opponent they’ve faced this season.

The 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship will take place on Monday, January 13th at 8PM EST at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The game will be televised on ESPN.
