Daytona 500 Sold Out For Fourth Straight Year

Written by Adrian Beecher

Daytona, FL – Saturday afternoon Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile announced that the 61st annual Daytona 500 is sold out, marking the 4th straight year the event has been sold out.

“This is a tribute to our fans,” Wile said in a statement released by the track. “They are responsible for making this ‘The Great American Race’ through their passion for our flagship event and incomparable facility.”

Daytona International Speedway holds 101,500. This is down over 66,000 seats after their $400 million renovation project at the track, which broke ground in early July 2013 and was completed in time for the 2016 edition of the Daytona 500.

The track is expecting attendees from over 45 different countries to be on site on Sunday for “The Great American Race’ and spectators from all 50 US States.

Despite the stadium seating being sold out, the track remains open for infield passes, and premium hospitality. For more information on this, you can reach out to 1-800-PITSHOP or purchase tickets online at www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com

The 61st running of the Daytona 500 will see the drop of the green flag, shortly after 2:30 pm EST, Sunday, February 17th, 2019 on FOX.
