Georgia Arrives in LA to Defend Title

LOS ANGELES — Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs arrived at LAX just after 3 pm PST, a few hours after TCU’s arrival.

Much different from the TCU arrival, there was no hype music, and not one player went to take a photo with the 2023 logo in front of the plane. It was all business for the Dawgs.

“We met this morning in Athens, got on the plane, and headed this way.” Said Smart after disembarking from the plane. “We’re here now to get a little work done today and then get ready to go practice tomorrow.”

It’s a repeat trip for the defending Dawgs, which saw their 2022-23 season result in a 14-0 record to get to LA. Their hopes were almost dashed on a last-minute 50-yard field goal from Ohio State, which knuckled and sailed wide left.

“We’ve improved, we’ve gotten better and we’ve played a lot of really good opponents, especially here at the end of the year.” Said smart. “We’ve come a long way, and young players have shown the most progress.”

Monday night, it will come full circle as the season comes to an end with one last prize up for grabs at Sofi Stadium.
