Hailie Deegan Ready for NASCAR Xfinity Debut at Dover’s Monster Mile

This Saturday, Hailie Deegan will make her first NASCAR Xfinity Series appearance at Dover Motor Speedway, facing the infamous “Monster Mile” in the much-anticipated BetRivers 200. As the 10th race of the 2024 season, it also marks Deegan’s track debut, presenting a new challenge for the ambitious driver.

The 21-year-old Temecula native has swiftly made a name for herself within NASCAR, transitioning from a successful tenure in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series to joining AM Racing’s No. 15 Ford Mustang team under a multiyear agreement. With her background in off-road and dirt racing, Deegan has demonstrated remarkable adaptability and prowess in her motorsport career.

A New Challenge Ahead

Dover Motor Speedway, known for its concrete surface and high-banked corners, presents a unique challenge to drivers, especially newcomers. Deegan’s approach is methodical yet optimistic, as she aims to build on her impressive 12th-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this season. From her perspective, every race is an opportunity to advance.

“Dover is a brand new track for me this weekend, but I’m glad to have the support of everyone on my AM Racing team,” Deegan shared. “I am optimistic after a career-best weekend at Talladega that we can come to Dover this weekend and have another solid performance.”

Her strategy emphasizes the importance of a strong start. “It is important for us to roll off the hauler and have some speed with our No. 15 AirBox Ford Mustang and then continue to make gains through qualifying and in the race that keeps us on the lead lap,” she noted, underscoring the need for continuous improvement.

Team Dynamics and Support

Joe Williams Jr., an industry veteran with a win and numerous top finishes in his Xfinity Series career, will be calling the shots as Deegan’s crew chief. The duo’s collaboration and strategic insight are expected to be key components in tackling the challenges at Dover.

AM Racing has expanded its involvement in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this year, running two cars for the entire season and maintaining a focus on developing competitive race strategies.

Looking to the Future

With 27% of the 2024 season complete, AM Racing and Hailie Deegan are grateful for the support of their partners, including AirBox, which marks its eighth race as the primary sponsor this year. The company’s commitment to enhancing indoor air quality, especially in response to recent global health concerns, parallels the team’s dedication to excellence and safety.

The race at Dover is more than just another event on the calendar; it’s a step towards future successes for Deegan, who continues to make strides in her rookie season in the Xfinity Series. As the engines rev up this Saturday, all eyes will be on the No. 15 Ford Mustang as Deegan takes on the Monster Mile, aiming to leave a mark with her resilience and racing acumen.
