Indiana Arrives in Miami Ahead of CFP National Championship Showdown

By Adrian Beecher

MIAMI — The Indiana Hoosiers are officially on site.

Indiana arrived in Miami on Saturday ahead of Monday night’s College Football Playoff National Championship game against the Miami Hurricanes, stepping off the plane focused and businesslike as preparations enter their final phase.

While Miami has already been in South Florida and will play the game at its home venue, the Hurricanes are listed as the visiting team as the No. 10 seed in the playoff field. Indiana, the top seed, now turns its full attention to finishing a historic season.

Head coach Curt Cignetti, Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza, and the rest of the Hoosiers moved efficiently through arrival logistics. The message was clear: the work is not finished.

Next on the schedule is College Football Playoff National Championship Media Day on Sunday at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Miami will hold its media availability from 9 to 10 a.m. ET, followed by Indiana from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. ET. Both teams will then participate in practice sessions later in the day, with the first 15 minutes open to the media.

Once media obligations conclude, preparation becomes private and precise.

Monday night’s matchup will decide a national champion, and with both teams now in Miami, the final countdown is officially underway.
