Jerry Jeudy of Alabama Takes Home Fred Biletnikoff Award As Nations Top Reciever

Written by Garin Turner

It’s another award for the Alabama Crimson Tide as Jerry Jeudy has won the Fred Biletnikoff Award for best wide receiver beating out Tylan Wallace of Oklahoma State and Andy Isabella from UMASS. “The other guys did a good job too. I know it was a hard decision,” Jeudy said. Jeudy is the second Crimson Tide receiver to win the award. Amari Cooper won it back in 2014. “My biggest influence to help me become a better receiver is my family and my teammates,” Jeudy said.

Jeudy is a big reason why Alabama is undefeated and playing in the CFP. He’s also been a primary target for Heisman hopeful Tua Tagovailoa. Jeudy led the SEC with 12 touchdown catches. He also had 59 receptions for 1,103 yards. He started off the season with two touchdown receptions in his first three games of the season. In the opener against Louisville, Jeudy had four receptions for 64 yards. Against Arkansas State he also had four receptions and added 87 yards. The third game of the year saw him break over the 100-yard mark against Ole Miss with 136. He also had 100-yard receiving games against Arkansas (135), Missouri (147), and Mississippi State (103). His longest catch of the year came in week seven against Missouri on an 81-yard pass.

Jeudy could have a huge game against Oklahoma in what could be a shootout. If Alabama wins, they’ll play the winner of Clemson/Notre Dame to decide the National Championship.
