Bristol, TN- Kyle Larson in the No. 42 McDonald’s Chevrolet woke up on the right side of the bed Saturday morning and was fastest in the early morning practice session for the cup drivers ahead of the Food City 500. He ran a lap speed of 14.874-seconds. That was just .006- seconds faster than Martin Truex Jr.
Coming in third fastest in the 2nd practice session was Aric Almirola in the No. 10 Smithfield Ford. Almirola will line up Sunday’s race in the 19th position. The pole sitter Kyle Busch in the no. 18 Skittles Toyota ran the 4th fastest lap time in the practice session with a 14.882-second trip around the “Worlds Fastest Half-Mile”.
The Cup Series Drivers will have one last practice session at 11:05 am on Saturday. Then at 12:45 pm, all the Cup Series cars will have to be stalled in their haulers ahead of Sunday’s Food City 500.
