Daytona, FL – The final Monster Energy Cup Series Practice ahead of the Daytona 500 saw only half of the field turn laps. Of those 20 cars, Michael McDowell in the No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops Ford, turning a 47.012-second lap on the 2.5-mile track.
2nd fastest in practice was Ty Dillion in the No. 13 GEICO Chevrolet, running only 0.002-seconds slower. McDowell will be starting in the 34th position come Sunday’s Daytona 500. Ty Dillion will start in 22nd come Sunday.
