The USF Bulls are now 4-0 on the season but it wasn’t easy, beating Bowling Green 14-6. With the loss, Bowling Green is still searching for its first win of the season (0-4).
It took a fourth quarter comeback for the Bulls. Bowling Green lead 6-0 in the fourth. The Bulls lost two fumbles in the first quarter but their defense held up only allowing a field goal.
The second quarter saw USF turn it over on downs and miss a field goal but the defense held strong again.
The third quarter only saw three combined drives that ended in punts.
In the fourth, Bowling Green tried to be aggressive only to turn it over on downs. USF finally scored six plays later when quarterback Luke Kromenhoek scored from two yards out. After forcing Bowling Green to punt again, D.J. Crowther scored on a one-yard run. Bowling Green would turn it over on downs again to end the game.
USF went 3/10 on third down and had just 214 of total yards. Michael Van Buren Jr. threw for just 52 yards on 7/11 completions. He also had the two lost fumbles in the first quarter.
Crowther had 23 carries for 143 yards and the touchdown. Bryson Rodgers had two catches for 22 yards. Levi Smiley, Asani Redwood and Michael Williams II each had a sack for USF.
