Brian Kelly led the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to an undefeated season and a spot in the College Football Playoffs. With that berth to the College Football playoffs, Brian Kelly led the team to its first appearance in the playoffs. Coach Kelly is in his ninth season coaching for Notre Dame is the winningest active coach in the FBS with an overall record of 252-91-2 through an outstanding twenty-eight years as a head coach. Brian Kelly is also the only head coach ever to receive this award for a third time.
“We stayed focus and we stayed on track” Coach Kelly said when asked about what this Notre Dame team has produced and how one slip up could have cost the Fighting Irish their playoff spot.
Brian Kelly will lead the Fighting Irish to the College Football Playoffs with hopes of a National Championship but first, they square off against Clemson on December 29.
