Denver Broncos Go Tight End in Round One of Draft

Written by Brandon Clearwaters

Before the draft the Denver Broncos finalized a trade for Quarterback Joe Flacco, and gave their fourth-round pick- 113th overall selection to the Baltimore Ravens, making the Broncos top needs this year in the NFL draft, needs at the defensive and offensive line, linebacker, as well as tight end positions, and with the tenth overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft the Denver Broncos elected to trade their pick to the Steelers and moved to the 20th pick overall selecting tight end Noah Fant from Iowa.

Noah Fant is a six foot four 249 lbs player. During the NFL combine Fant ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, with a vertical jump of 39.5 inches. Noah brings tons of strengths to the Broncos offensive line. Some of these strengths include his ability to accelerate off snaps, he brings tons of speed and talent and is able to work all areas of the gridiron. While there are many strengths that Noah brings to the Broncos, he also suffers weaknesses, Noah must be able to adjust routes to improve his ability to find the ball and adjust to underthrown passes.

During his three years with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Noah tied the national record for touchdowns by a tight end with eleven and led the nation in yards per catch averaging 16.5. Faint was a 2017 third team All-Big Ten, 2018 First-team All-Big Ten selection. Noah as a receiver had 39 catches for a total of 519 yards and seven touchdowns during his 2018 season with the Hawkeyes.

The Denver Broncos open up the preseason on August 1st against the Atlanta Falcons in the Hall of Fame Game.
