(Charlotte, NC) Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney topped the speed charts in the heat of the day they posted the fastest single laps at a 28.970 and a 29.054 respectively. Will this speed lead to speed in the race, only time will tell? This is a big win for the #42 Team and Kyle Larson after missing qualifying due to getting into the wall in a practice session earlier this week. Larson also posted the 4th fastest 10 lap average. The top qualifier, Kevin Harvick, was very upset with his #4 Mobile 1 Ford posting the 20th fastest single lap and the 8th fastest 10 lap average.
Practice was not easy for all as Brad Keselowski went for a ride through the grass off turn 4 causing damage to the right rear of his car. They got the car fixed and back out on the track posting the 16th fastest single lap speed and the 25th fastest 10 lap average. Jimmie Johnson spent his time practicing getting the car slowed up to get on to pit road from racing speed. He did post the 5th fastest 10 lap average and the 8th fastest single lap.
