Kyle Busch Claims Food City 300 Pole

Bristol, TN – Kyle Busch won the pole for the 2018 Food City 300 Xfinity Series race on Sunday after running a 15.389-second lap in the final round beating out 2nd fastest Christopher Bell by 0.087-seconds.

In round 1 of qualifying, Kyle Larson ran the fastest lap with a 15.591-second lap. Busch was second fastest running a 15.617-second lap. The first points-eligible driver in the Xfinity qualifying session was Matt Tifft, who clocked in 3rd fastest with a 15.647-second lap.

The cut line for round one was only separated by 0.033-seconds with Ray Black claiming the final spot to get into round two with a 16-249-second lap. Just missing the cutline was Garrett Smithly.

In round two, Busch took the top spot from Larson with a 15.367-second lap.  Larson was seventh fastest, 0.293-seconds off Busch’s time. Joey Logano was third fastest and Tifft was again third fastest.

Just missing the cut to the final round of 12 was Chase Briscoe, as he tied with Ryan Truex. Both ran a 15.768-second lap times, but the tie went to Ryan Truex.
