Notre Dame, IN- Currently ranked third in the College Football Playoff Rankings the Norte Dame Fighting Irish look to remain undefeated. This weekend they will take on the Florida State Seminoles. Norte Dame is just three wins away from all but guaranteeing their place in the CFP. The Fighting Irish are coming off a 31-21 victory over Northwestern. Norte Dame currently holds a losing record in all-time games against the Fighting Irish (2-6). This will be the first meeting of these two teams since 2014.

The quest to remain undefeated for the fighting Irish though looks to have become a little tougher as starting quarterback Ian Books has been ruled out for this game. Brook’s has thrown for a total of 1,824 yards and combined for a total of fifteen touchdowns since taking over the role as starting quarterback on September 22nd.

With the news of Book’s being ruled out the Fighting Irish will turn to Brandon Wimbush, a quarterback that has had his share of struggles for Norte Dame. Only throwing one touchdown and four interceptions in the first three games of the season.

As for the Seminoles, they are looking to get back in the win column after suffering a 47-28 defeat against fourteenth ranked NC State. “We have to play better ball on defense, the plays are there to be made, they need to make a play on the ball” Seminoles head coach Willie Taggart said about his team’s performance.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is slated for 4:30 P.M. and can be seen on NBC.
